What is AgriScot?

The Place To Do Business…The UK’s top Farm Business Event!

AgriScot’s status as a leading business event is emphasised by visitor surveys which reveal that the main reasons visitors gave for attending were they wanted to see the latest products, to do business and to meet and talk to others in the industry

Martin Dare, the man behind the organisation of AgriScot said this was a tremendous endorsement of the event.  “We have delighted that in a survey undertaken 92% of exhibitors indicated they want to come back and a good proportion of those returners have told us they want more space.”

Both the Highland and Lowland halls at Ingliston have been full to capacity in recent years and the waiting list for space has grown. The most recent independent survey carried out by Ian Solly Associates also revealed that 96.2% of the visitors interviewed stated that the show had either met or exceeded their expectations.

While AgriScot started life as a specialist dairy event and still continues to attract the top exhibitors to its high quality dairy competition, the show now attracts a wide range of visitors with the survey showing beef farmers predominated, followed by those in the dairy sector. Arable, pig and poultry farmers also attended in large numbers confirming AgriScot as an all-industry event

What AgriScot Exhibitors and Visitors Said About the 2016 Event

The emphasis on business is clearly demonstrated when speaking to the exhibitors and visitors who attended the 2016 event:

On the day:

Stephen Melville, Laurence Gould:

“AgriScot is the only event we attend because it’s the only one where real business gets done. We have six staff members here today and each one has been busy talking to clients and potential clients all day. People come here with business in mind – Linkedin may be what many people use these days but there is no substitute for face to face conversation and AgriScot provides just that. Laurence Gould have been coming to AgriScot since it began and we’ll continue to do so.”

Euan Cunningham, WN Lindsay:

“AgriScot is one of the best days of the year for WN Lindsay.  Farmers and growers come to talk to us and we can also seek out people we want to engage with. Our stand is busy throughout the day and provides an excellent platform for us to reinforce our brand and ensure that visitors are fully aware of the range of services that we offer. We work in an internationally competitive market and without doubt AgriScot helps to facilitate our position with that market.”

Graeme Meikle, arable farmer:

“AgriScot is a business event but if I’m honest, I also find it excellent for catching up with people I don’t get to see very often.  Farming can be an isolated profession so it’s important that we all get out to events like AgriScot to meet up with friends and those we do business with to share ideas and socialise.  At the same time, if I’m looking for an agricultural consultant, needing to speak to a grain merchant or researching renewables, I know I can find the right person to speak to here.”

Graham Lofthouse, farmer at Bankhouse, Stow, 2016 AgriScot Sheep Farm of the Year:

“We are delighted to win, very unexpected. It has been a pleasure to be involved in the competition, especially with such a professional panel of assessors.  I would certainly encourage other farmers to enter future AgriScot farm of the year awards.”

James Rhys Baylis, sheep farmer

“As AgriScot is purely a business event, companies have more time for you and your queries. At summer shows, you’re often competing for their attention with members of the public so it was nice to be able to spend some time chatting and finding out a bit more about some new gear and technologies that I was interested for the farm.”
