AgriScot, the Farm Business Event which this year will take place on Wednesday 16th November, is set to develop a significant new partnership with Scotland’s largest independent retailer.
Scotmid, the Edinburgh based co-operative business with 350 retail outlets across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England, will be a headline sponsor of AgriScot 2016.
Andrew Moir, AgriScot Chairman, welcomed the deal:
“We are delighted that AgriScot will have a prominent national retailer like Scotmid on board.”
“Sponsorship is always very welcome and it certainly helps us to maintain our free entry policy for AgriScot. However, we also welcome the agreement with Scotmid on a number of practical levels. Our event seeks to enhance the business performance of Scottish agriculture as a whole, and strengthening relationships with the largest Scottish based retailer will help with that aim.”
Tom Gibson, Retail Marketing Manager for Scotmid Food, commented:
“Scotmid now sells more locally-produced food and drink than ever before.”
“We’re always on the hunt for exciting products made right here in Scotland and at Scotmid, it is very important to us that we support local producers. Scotland’s larder is bountiful and we enjoy bringing the very best of it to our network of stores.”
“As Scotland’s largest co-operative society, we are proud to be a sponsor of AgriScot and see it as a key opportunity for us to show our support for the farming community.”
Scotmid co-operative businesses include Scotmid Food, Semichem, Funeral Directors and Post Offices.
